How desperately sad. This is how it was for him. JKR kind of glossed over this part, but this was the reality of it.

Whoa, this is looking to be something here, and if things are looking like I think, when the stuff hits the fan, well, it's going to cover a lot of folks, and people will not be happy at all, in fact, this looks like it could be very dark before its all over.

Can I just say how excited I am that you have chosen to pick up this story. I read it when it was originaly published and loved it. I was very disapointed when it was abondoned. I'm eagerly anticipating reading where you take this.

I'm totally confused here. The ritual seems to imply that Lily and James can't be killed until Harry dies sometime after killing Voldemort... and yet this Voldemort is a limp wristed pansy who uses stupify?

Was Harry marked as an equal? Did Voldemort become a wraith for years? How is it Remus knows Harry is alive but doesn't/can't tell the Potters?

This sounds like an interesting story, but I hope you and the lovely Mrs. are going to proof the beejesus out of the original chapters. This one has some questionable grammar and a couple (possibly?) big plot holes.

Kinsfire replied:

The situation is actually fairly well thought out. I'm picking up the story from another writer who's dropping off the 'net for a while.

There's a vital line missing from what everyone knows about the prophecy. This will actually explain more than you think.

It wasn't a "pansy-ass Voldemort" as you say - it was actually a rather brutally cruel one. "I Stupefied both of you and then MURDERED your baby. Like the rest of the wizarding world, you can do NOTHING to stop me. Live long lives knowing that you are too ineffective to protect even a baby."

And then they live the rest of their lives knowing that their baby was murdered in front of them, for all intents and purposes.

A cunning and cruel Riddle, not a wimpy one.

this looks familiar, I just dont know why ... have you posted this chapter before?

anyway and interesting start, hope to see a new chapter soon :)

now that is an eerie start - and this Dumbledore seems to make Tom riddle look like a choir boy.

hope we won't be on tenterhooks too long

Ouch. I feel sick, as I wonder why nobody ever did anything. And what about Lily and James? Do they believe he's dead? What happened to Sirius?

So many questions, but I guess I'll just have to wait for the next part... ;-)

I remember this story well...my question is are you posting the original eight chapters first? You mentioned something about them, but does that mean the first eight will come quickly because they are reposts?

Dumbledore and Snape get some good Potter justice from Lily and James if I remember correctly.

Thanks for writing(posting),
Matt

Kinsfire replied:

Yeah, the first eight chapters will come out pretty quickly, and then slow down. When she gave me permission to take over the story, she sent me her notes thus far, but told me that I didn't have to follow them slavishly.

Actually, by the time I reach the end of her already posted chapters, I'll likely have finished with the ninth chapter, Chapter 8. They'll slow down from there.

Holy smokes, You are Evil I say. How can you just leave us hanging with that intro?

The sign of a good prologue: If your fans want to kill you for stopping there.. Your's was a very good prologue.

any way we can find the original 8 chapters? i looked around on the net, but couldn't find them.
that way i can at least start reading the finished part of the story, unless you'll upload the first 8 chapters of the story all in one go.

knowing your style of writing a bit, it'll be a good one. just hope you don't wait too long with it...
