Remember how I pointed out that Amelia's permission for Tonks to stay (and sleep) with Harry was critical? Here's why: as much as DUMBledore would basically be blackmailing Harry, it won't fly, because in order to get to Tonks, he has to get to Amelia Bones (the MLE Director). In short, Tonks wasn't staying with Harry for DUMBledore (or the Order); this was an MLE assignment, given by her ultimate boss (Amelia) who knows full well that Tonks has it bad for Harry. Though Harry knows that Amelia approves of Tonks being there, Harry (and Tonks) don't know that Amelia is very aware that Tonks has it bad for Harry; if they had, then DUMBledore's threat would be worth less than a three-galleon coin. That is, in fact, the ONLY reason that DUMBledore's threat has any weight. Still, that was a mighty large hole Harry blew through the castle. That SHOULD have given Dumbledore serious pause (for several reasons):

1. Harry is but sixteen. (A magically-reinforced several-hundred-year-old STONE CASTLE should certainly be able to stand up to even the most adrenalin-charged fit of Magical Pique; yet it failed to stand up to Harry.)

2. Did Harry even bother to use his wand to cast that spell?

3. Put the two together and we have a truly frightening capability. Does DUMBledore really want that sort of firepower aimed at him?

Poor, poor Harry but I do love the way he talks to the Goblins.

As an American I say "thank you" for showing Americans in a good way. Too many times have I heard what people from other countries call us. It's just nice to see us portrayed the way we actually are, which is independent and passionate people.

DUMBledore well and truly screwed da pooch, by making plain he was going to bust up Harry and Tonks. BIG mistake. Harry then proceeds to unleash a high-powered Reducto on a wall of Dumbledore's office; worse, Fawkes adds insult to injury by grabbing Harry and fleeing to #4, where Harry packs rather hurriedly but thoroughly, leaving a note for Tonks (and eventually Dumbledore), before man and phoenix head to Gringott's, leaving more delayed messages before being *exported* to the US.

All through the books, I've been waiting for Harry to see what a manipulative bastard Dumbledore has been and do something about it. Glad to see that happen here. Sorry to see Harry and Tonks separate. Hope that they can get together soon, they're just damn good for each other. Now... let's see how the states plays out for the world's most famous wizard.
