Very good. I like Death when she seems to be doing something nice. Like she said, She'll get him in the end anyway! I really think something needs to be done about Umbridge though! She should not be running around loose!
Thanks for writing. pms

It may have been a pernicious plot bunny, but you did good with it. keep up the good work.

Dude!!!!! Gaiman is a true master at the ultimate crossover and I'm so glad you found a way to work Death into one of your stories. This is so awesome. If only you could find a way to fit Dream in there...

Death always has the better deal in the end.

Heh, had a strange idea instead of this DC/Vertigo version of death was the one showing up. What if it was Death as in "Mr. Black" of Rorscharchblot's making from Harry Potter. It would definately be an interesting conversation between the two and the rest of the gathering.

now if only i knew which mythos to look in for Death older brother I could cut my research to a week instead of a month, dang.

interesting little story - I guess one of the advantages of being magical is the ability to bargain like that.

thanks for a thought provoking story

Kinsfire replied:

Look at DC Comics. In therir Vertigo line, there was a comic series (now completed) called "The Sandman". It was about an anthropomorphic manifestation known as Dream. There were seven of them: Dream, Destiny, Desire, Delirium, Despair, Death and Destruction. (Destruction quit a while back, since it seemed to happen all on its own.)

If you find the collections (in any worthwhile bookstore), look in the first collection for a story called "The Sound of her Wings". That's our introduction to the little cutie that Harry made a deal with.

Great story! I hadn't thought of a crossover like this, but it makes sense.

And I do think that Gaiman's Death would react about as you have her doing.

Oh, geez. A flashback to Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey............... Good, though. Love to catch Death in any game.

The multitude of detritus was a nice touch, particularly the "simple carpenter's cup". I forgot it with the earlier review.

Hey, I thought this fic was great. It plays off of many old folktales I know of making deals with Death. And I also like the idea of making Death an attractive young lady. Very much "Dead Like Me". Keep writing like you do and I'll keep reading. Moreover, I'll start reviewing your other stuff.

Morange posted a comment on Monday 4th September 2006 12:05pm for Death 1, Destiny 0

you just had to put in the carpenters cup didn't you? *chuckle*
